COLD START DOOMS NORTH IN 78-62 LOSS TO HARRISON

North hit just 1 of its first seven shots and the Harrison Warriors sank their first seven in jumping out to a 16-3 first quarter lead.  The Huskies lingered at the 13 point deficit throughout the game before making a late charge to pull within four points at 62-58.  With just 4:30 remaining in the game, the Huskies' Drew Watters hit a jump shot to rally North to just four points down and North forced a turnover on the in-bounds play.

With the ball in their possession and the score the closest it had been since North trailed 6-3 in the first quarter, the Huskies self destructed.  First they turned the ball over on a traveling call and then, on the ensuing possession, senior team captain Ty Pauley was called for his fourth personal foul at the other end.  Words were exchanged and Pauley was whistled for a technical foul--his fifth foul of the game.  The Warriors got two free throws for the personal, two for the technical, and then took the ball out.

Harrison ran off the next 10 points in a row and the game was over for all intents and purposes.  Watters led the Huskies with 18 points while "Big" Mike Johnson enjoyed his best overall game of his career with 16 points and 7 rebounds--6 of which came off the offensive glass.

In the Jayvee game, junior forward Cory Sanners played his first game of the season and led North scorers with 11 points.  It wasn't enough, however, as the Junior Varsity fell to Harrison 55-32.  Freshman Austin Elmore added 8 points and fellow freshman Chase Whitler scored 4 points.
